My friend, Caroline, and I are competing in a Pickleball Tournament for Lung Saskatchewan. This tournament is a fundraiser to help support Saskatchewan lung transplant patients! Support Saskatchewan Lung Transplant Patients
Did you know, as a Saskatchewan resident, that if you need a lung transplant you will be required to travel out of province at your own expense? You will need to live away from home for three months or more? A caregiver will need to be with you the entire time? None of these expenses are covered by health insurance. Some people choose not to go, simply because they can't afford to.
Lung Saskatchewan is raising funds through our first annual “Feisty Pickles” pickleball tournament. These funds will go towards supporting the vital creation of “Breathing Space”. Breathing Space will be the first facility of its kind in Canada. It will provide a sanctuary for lung transplant patients and their families, giving them much needed “breathing space” in their fight to regain their strength and vitality.
